Quorum-ETC is an English-speaking theatre company based in France providing Plays and Workshops to students studying the language.
The Company is welcomed by over 100 Collèges, Lycées and Universités in France each year.

The Company

Quorum-ETC was established in 1998. The Founders of the company, Judi Armstrong Christie and Philip Ayckbourn trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. From 1995 to 1997 they presented Shakespeare plays in the parks of London during the summer months. In 1997, after touring Germany, France, Belgium and Switzerland with an English-speaking theatre company, Judi was inspired to create Quorum. The company’s first tour in 1998 was with Chekov’s, ‘The Bear and the Proposal’. It played to 22 schools in the south of France and was seen by 2,500 students. The following year saw the number of schools double to nearly 50 and within 10 years that number had doubled again. Quorum-ETC now perform in over 100 schools each year, to a collective audience of more than 15,000 spectators. The actors are all professionals working within the entertainment industry with English as their native language, many of whom have been with the company for several years, therefore ensuring a personal relationship between the company and the schools themselves.

The Audience
